JUNIORS KARATE CLASSES

With an emphasis on mutual respect and joy, students practice the Way of Empty Hand as a tradition of peace.
Ongoing classes for children, six years and up, are held Monday and Friday from 4:30-5:45pm during the school year. Juniors may also participate in any of the All Ranks & Ages Classes.

JUNIORS KARATE CAMPS: Self-defense & Empowerment

Instructors Kathleen Garrity and Robbie Sanders teach children a way of personal empowerment and mutual respect through traditional karate, self-defense and assertiveness training, practice with long staff, stories and a daily animal theme based on the ancient energy practice of Five Animals Play.
For children 6 -12 years old. (Child must have turned six by January.)
Monday - Friday, 8:30am-Noon. Last week of June, July and August. (August camp for intermediate students)
2008 dates: June 30 - July 4; July 21 - 25; August 25 - 29.
$100 per session.

Session I & Session II: for all levels. Last week of June & July.

Session III: Outdoor training for intermediate students. Last week of August.

Instructors: Kathleen Garrity and Robbie Sanders bring their teamwork of teaching self-defense & empowerment to this Juniors Karate Camp since 1993.
Kathleen Garrity is director/teacher of the Ithaca Karate Harmony with Nature School. She has been studying martial arts for over 35 years, and has been teaching juniors and adults at her own dojo and area schools for 32 years. Robbie Sanders is a third degree black belt in karate and a self-defense instructor. She has 34 years experience as a Special Ed/Primary teacher. Since 2006, Ms. Sanders has been at Ithaca High School as a Special Ed and Global History teacher.
